Duncan is an emerging artist, teacher and photographer.
Since peering through the viewfinder of his first hand me down camera, his career has been a constant hunt for inspiration wherever he can find it. From the darkroom to the classroom, from street shots to Photoshop, from the gallery to the studio, He likes to have one toe in every facet of the photo world. Rather than specialize in one genre, he believes that there is something valuable to be learned in every type of photography an education that ultimately leads to a unique look.
Through his artistic work, Duncan explores the human condition, in all its aspects, and the threads that tie us to place, time and each other. Drawing on the influence of jazz, astrology, psychology and pop culture, he tries to examine the details of the present to see the echoes of the past.
He takes advantage of the fact that photography is unique in the arts for its union with science. He says, what better way to characterize the 21st century than with a machine of glass, plastic, emulsion and microchips.
